Macaburlesque is a decadent theatrical journey into the deliciously dark.
Blending burlesque with macabre storytelling, the performance combines dark cabaret, physical theatre, live music and ritualistic spectacle. The show moves between sensuality, satire and the strange, exploring beauty’s relationship with the grotesque through a bold and immersive stage experience.
Audience members can expect characters that shift between temptress, monster, mourner, clown and siren — creating moments that are provocative, seductive and darkly humorous.

Singer-songwriter Daniel John Martin brings his distinctive sound and storytelling to the Chiesa stage for an intimate live performance that blends thoughtful lyrics with engaging musicality.
Jazz Violin Virtuoso Daniel John Martin, often called “DJM,” was born in Congleton, England, and spent his youth in Africa. His time in Senegal and South Africa exposed him to diverse musical traditions, which later informed his eclectic style.
DJM is celebrated as a leading figure in “Gypsy jazz,” a genre inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli’s work in the 1930s. His style is rooted in this rich tradition, yet he infuses it with his own approach, blending classical technique with vibrant improvisational jazz.
Daniel John’s compositions and improvisations reflect a romantic influence with intense musicality and technical prowess. This unique blend of classical and jazz elements has become DJM’s hallmark, making him a standout performer in Paris and beyond.

Acclaimed South African bassist Herbie Tsoaeli takes to the stage with a performance rooted in the rich traditions of South African jazz, promising a dynamic evening of rhythm, improvisation and musical storytelling.
Affectionately known as “Malume”, Herbie Tsoaeli is a bassist, composer, arranger and a 2013 Best Jazz Album South African Music Award winner, for his debut album African Time.

South African jazz trumpeter and performer Ndumiso Nyovane brings his acclaimed musical storytelling to the stage.
Born in Soweto, Nyovane began playing trumpet at the age of 12 and later performed with bands including Varukweru and Harare under the mentorship of Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse.
His music blends township jazz, gospel and African rhythmic traditions, reflecting a deep connection to South Africa’s musical heritage.
His album Trumpet from Heaven, which reimagines traditional gospel through jazz interpretation, earned a Crown Gospel Award nomination and showcases his ability to bridge spiritual, traditional and contemporary soundscapes.
