Grammy-Winning Global Icon Headlines South Africa’s Premier Music Festival with Star-Studded Supporting Cast

Pretoria, South Africa – Hey Neighbour Festival 2025, South Africa’s groundbreaking global music and lifestyle celebration, has announced its highly anticipated second wave of artists, with Grammy Award-winning DJ and producer Black Coffee claiming the main stage spotlight. The festival returns to Legends Adventure Farm, Pretoria, on 30-31 August 2025, promising an extraordinary fusion of international and local talent that celebrates African creativity on a global scale.

Black Coffee, born Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, brings his legendary “Afropolitan House” sound to the Hey Neighbour Festival main stage as the first African artist to win a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album and the first South African to headline Madison Square Garden. The internationally acclaimed artist, whose collaborations span from Drake’s “Honestly, Nevermind” to performances at Coachella and his residency at Ibiza’s prestigious Hï club, will be joined by carefully selected special guests for what promises to be an unforgettable homecoming performance.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Black Coffee to the Hey Neighbour Festival family,” said Glen Netshipise, CEO of Hey Neighbour Festival. “His ability to seamlessly blend traditional African sounds with cutting-edge electronic music perfectly embodies our festival’s mission of bringing global communities together through music.”

Beyond the headline act, the meticulously curated supporting lineup showcases the best of South African talent across multiple genres. The stellar local roster includes R&B sensation Elaine, whose velvet vocals have captivated audiences nationwide, and Akio, the culture-curating DJ extraordinaire known for delivering transcendent musical experiences.

Holly Rey, who consistently delivers both heat and heart, and Sun-EL Musician, whose Afro-electronic compositions create spiritual experiences through sound, will treat house music enthusiasts to performances. DJ Nkosh brings her Afro-house mastery, which moves both souls and feet, while DJ Lochive explores fresh sonic territories with deep, danceable energy.

Khuli Chana, the finest of Motswako who continues to dominate the scene, and Muzi, the self-proclaimed “Zulu Skywalker” who masterfully fuses traditional sounds with futuristic bounce, demonstrate the festival’s commitment to celebrating South African musical heritage. Adding to the diverse musical tapestry are Tortured Soul with their soulful, jazzy deep house grooves, Nia Pearl delivering smooth Amapiano vocals, and Lulo Cafe, the deep house veteran serving timeless feels.

Representing the next generation of South African sound are DJ Lag, widely regarded as a pioneer of the Gqom movement, and Adillah, the country’s go-to DJ for all things wavy. This remarkable lineup represents just the local acts for day two, with additional surprises still to be revealed.

Hey Neighbour Festival continues to evolve as Africa’s premier music destination, featuring multiple stages, diverse food offerings, various bar experiences, and extensive camping options ranging from traditional camping to luxury glamping. For the first time, the Hey Neighbour Festival welcomes music lovers aged 16 and above, expanding its community of global neighbours.

The Hey Neighbour Festival’s media landscape receives a significant boost with Jacaranda FM and MTV joining as official media partners, ensuring the event’s energy reaches audiences across airwaves and screens throughout South Africa and beyond.

Building on the phenomenal success of its 2023 debut, which attracted over 60,000 music lovers and featured headliners including Kendrick Lamar, Tyla, Swedish House Mafia, and H.E.R., Hey Neighbour 2025 promises to elevate the festival experience even further.
