South African National Parks (SANParks), in partnership with the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), has announced a new programme to promote disability inclusion and economic empowerment for entrepreneurs with disabilities.

In a media statement, SANParks said the initiative responds to the persistent challenges faced by persons with disabilities, including social stigma, physical barriers, and insufficient business management skills. These obstacles have long hindered full participation in South Africa’s economic landscape, despite constitutional guarantees of equality, dignity, and freedom for all citizens.

“This initiative is about dismantling systemic barriers and creating pathways for inclusive economic participation,” said JP Louw, SANParks Head of Communications and Spokesperson.

The programme provides targeted business management training to equip participants with the skills to start, manage, and grow their enterprises. It also links them to potential markets, suppliers, and business networks to create opportunities for sustainable entrepreneurship.
